Veer ended his phone call with a deep sigh, his expression unreadable. He stood in his library for a moment, staring out of the window into the dark night, lost in thought. After a few minutes, he stepped out, the familiar sound of soft footsteps catching his attention. Aarohi was heading toward the dining table, her long hair swaying gently with each step.
As if sensing his gaze, Aarohi paused and turned to look at him. Veer stopped mid-step on the staircase, their eyes locking momentarily. But before he could say anything, she broke the contact and continued toward the table, Rudra trailing behind her like a loyal shadow. Aarohi reached out and scratched behind Rudra’s ears, earning a contented purr, before sitting down at her usual spot.
